One of the biggest disagreements of 2017( at least to us) was the official death of the headphone jack. After the backlash surrounding the jack-less iPhone 7, we had hoped that Apple would get the suggestion and include a jack with the iPhone 8. Instead, we got a bigger dongle.
Apple wants you to get used to their AirPods, and while they’re much more ubiquitous now than they were in 2016, they are continuing look pretty silly. If you still want to hold onto your earbuds but the idea of a dongle constructs you cringe, there is another option.
An iPhone 7/8 occurrence that integrates a headphone jack is curiously difficult to find. The Fuze case looked promising, but at the time of writing their Shopify website is unavailable.
Thankfully, with some digging, we were able to find this one on Amazon. In addition to an external battery pack like the Mophie juice pack, this case includes an integrated headphone jack. It basically runs like a dongle splitter, without having to use an annoying dongle.
It’s not a perfect solution — for one thing you can’t use the remote controls or mic on your earbuds. Nonetheless, if it’s a selection between that and dongles, we’d take the no-dongle answer every time.
