Rihanna definitely has a point.
Recently, when Twitter customer @lbertootero told the Study vocalist she should hire a transgender female for her next Fenty Beauty campaign, the musician wrote back with an extremely eloquent response.
While the 29 -year-old has “had the pleasure of working with many gifted trans females over the years, ” she doesn’t “go around doing trans castings” to avoid tokenism.
The Barbados-native adds 😛 TAGEND
“I don’t think it’s fair that a trans girl, or human, be used as a convenient marketing tool. Too often I realise companies doing this to trans and black females alike. There’s always simply that one place in the campaign for the token ‘we look mad diverse’ girl/ guy! It’s sad! “‘
When term spread, social media users instantaneously praised RiRi’s “kind” and “respectful” comments.
good on rihanna to not want to exploit trans wives just for the sake of marketing

As a trans female I have so much appreciation and respect for Rihanna. She worded all of that so perfectly and respectful and kind. She’s a true-life angel
