This post contains spoilers fromSeason 7, Episode 5. As we wind down to the final episodes of, there’s a race against time for a crucial piece of information to get out before the Long Night sets up store. How will our heroes read Jon’s true-life parentage? Will Bran get to see Jon and tell him? Will Sam find something? Or maybe, will the truth be revealed in thisJon Snow and Drogon scene on, and the dragons know Jon is definitely a Targaryen?

Now, to be fair, we don’t know if the Dragons can reek Targaryen blood in a stranger, because for the last few hundred years they were alive on Westeros, the Targaryens took to putting the eggs in the birthplaces of their newborns, in order to foster pre-birth bonding. But many suspect that dragons will know those who can ride them without having to undergo these cradle bonding fads that were hyped in.

Besides, HBOhas been hyping the heck out of Jon’s meeting with the dragons. Clearly, they’re expecting great things to come from mentioned meeting.

So the real question I have is what will it take for those around Jon Snow and Dany to start putting the puzzle pieces together? Is there any reason for Dany to suppose Jon is a Targaryen from Drogon’s allowing Jon to pet him?

I mean, we would like to think so, but well , not really. After all, who hasn’t brought home their potential long-term SO after got a couple of dates to gratify the cats and see if they approve of this human as a potential long term staffling?( Purrbot had to personally approve of my husband before I would consider it a relationship, anyway. I accept Dany would feel the same way about Drogon .)

So, Jon survived his first encounter and even got a little nose scritches in to boot. Having one’s best animal decide his rider’s potential match isn’t worth roasting when they meet the first time out? Seems have committed themselves to me!
